People don’t follow polished. They follow felt.

Most leaders don’t have a branding problem.

They have a heart gap.

They know what they care about.

They know what matters.

They know the impact they want to make.

But they don’t express it.

Somewhere along the way, they were told to “be professional,” and in the process, they stripped the heart out of their communication — the very thing that makes people trust, remember, and follow them.

People don’t follow polished. They follow felt.

And when your communication loses heart, your brand loses power.

A simple skill to close the Heart Gap

When you’re writing or speaking, ask yourself one question:

What do I want people to feel when they hear this?

Not:

How do I sound smart

How do I look credible

How do I avoid saying the wrong thing

But: What do I want them to feel?

Feeling creates connection.

Connection builds trust.

Trust creates opportunity.

Your brand isn’t built by how polished you are.

It’s built by how clearly people can feel your intent.
